Digital Creator and Speaker
Tom Curtis is the dad behind the Instagram account Things I Have Drawn, which imagines a world in which the things kids draw are actually real.
What started as a fun little project with his sons, Dom and Al, soon turned into something much much bigger, with parents sending their children's drawings in from all over the world.
Over the years, Tom has created photo-realistic images of hundreds of creatures, vehicles and other rather unusual-looking objects and people, won a Webby Award, and amassed nearly a million followers on Instagram along the way. In 2022 he was named one of AdWeek New York’s Creator Visionaries of the Year.
With over 25 years’ experience in the advertising industry, and as Executive Creative Director at one of the world’s biggest agencies, it’s not quite a fluke. Nonetheless, Tom is hugely passionate about the future of creativity – and especially about encouraging kids to draw (obviously) – and as such is a devoted trustee of the art charity The Big Draw and ambassador for children’s charity Rays of Sunshine.
